Rathnure's Ciarán O'Connor was shown a red card a mere 25 seconds into his side's All-Ireland club IHC semi-final against Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry at Glenisk O'Connor Park yesterday.
O'Connor was given his marching orders for a wild pull on Tynagh’s Shane Moloney at the throw-in. Referee Conor Doyle also sent off Rathnure's Sean O'Connor for a high tackle in the 50th minute as the Wexford champions lost out on a 2-11 to 2-19 scoreline.
Needless to say, the Rathnure supporters weren't happy and made their feelings known towards the Tipperary match official who required an escort off the field at full-time.
Remarkably, O'Connor Park has witnessed two of the quickest sending offs in GAA history this year. In last April's Joe McDonagh Cup clash, Offaly captain Jason Sampson was dismissed by referee Brian Keon after only 20 seconds following an altercation with Westmeath opponent Aonghus Clarke.
