Schools: Boyerstown and Oristown to do it all over again

Boyerstown and Oristown kept the large crowd that turned out for game number three on the edge of their seats right up until Jimmy Walsh blew the full time whistle in this Allianz Meath Cumann na mBunscol Girls Division 4 final at Páirc Tailteann.
Scores were at a premium in the opening half but that didn’t take from the quality of football on display. Oristown made a great start when a Pia Clarke free found its way to the Boyerstown net. Zara Metry opened Boyerstown’s account and five minutes later Erin Matthews raised their second white flag as Oristown went to the half time break 1-0 to 0-2 in front.
The girls in maroon extended their lead with two points from Grace Byrne and Clodagh Carry early in the second half. Sadie Callaghan replied for Boyerstown as the game entered the last ten minutes. Carry put Oristown three in front but Lána Conaty had the game tied up with a goal with minutes remaining. Pia Clarke looked to have given Oristown victory but Erin Matthews got the equaliser just before the full time whistle to set up a replay.
Midway through the opening half Abbie Gleeson’s dream of playing in Pairc Tailteann came through when the Boyerstown star got to take a sideline kick much to the delight of both teams a supporters.
