Mikey Cole fires over for Trim as Kildalkey's David Conneely tries to block during the Meath SHC round 1 game at Pairc Tailteann

Trim 1-20 Kildalkey 1-13

Trim turned in a brilliant display to totally outclass last years Jubilee Cup winners Kildalkey in this SHC Group A round 1 clash on a perfect sod at Pairc Tailteann.

Paddy Barnwell had the Jubilee Cup holders on the scoreboard first but from there on till the last ten minutes of the game Trim were in control. Scores from Mikey Cole, the outstanding James Murray, Dimi Higgins and Josh Harris had Trim 0-8 to 0-4 in front before the games first goal arrived. James Murray missed a penalty but seconds later Mikey Cole had the ball in the Kildalkey net. The town side went in at the break 1-11 to 0-4 in front.

All Trim had to do in the second half was keep the scoreboard ticking over. Three points from Nicky Potterton and one from Brian O’Halloran gave the Blue and White supporters something to cheer about but Trim were in no mood to give up their healthy lead. Points from Mark Molloy, Murray, Mikey Cole, Harris and Joey Cole made sure that there was no way back for the Village. Potterton put a respectable appearance on the scoreboard with a goal from a free in the last play of the game.

Trim scorers: James Murray 0-10, Mikey Cole 1-2, Darragh Heffernan 0-3, Josh harris 0-2, Dimmy Higgins, Joey Cole and Mark Molloy 0-1 each
