Armagh GAA has issued a warning to the public about a 'counterfeit' Sam Maguire doing a tour of the county, for which 'substantial' amounts of money are being charged.

As the Orchard County continues to bask in July's All-Ireland success, the county board has stressed that it would never charge for an appearance with Sam, adding that it has clear guidelines for requesting the use or appearance of the most famous trophy in Irish sport.

"Armagh GAA have been made aware of a counterfeit Sam Maguire trophy being taken around a number of pubs, event venues and schools in exchange for substantial amounts of money," an Armagh GAA statement read.

"Armagh GAA have clearly established guidelines and methods for requesting the use / appearance of the Sam Maguire and will NEVER charge for this."
