Tyrone are All-Ireland U20 football champions for the third time in four years after defeating Louth by 5-16 to 0-17 at the Box-It Athletic Grounds.

Noah Grimes led the way for the Red Hands with 2-6, while senior panellist Eoin McElholm hit 2-4 over the hour as the Red Hands retained the Clarke Cup in Armagh.

The scoreboard read 0-3 to 0-2 in Louth’s favour when Grimes sold a brilliant dummy to get through and net the Ulster champions’ first goal in the 15th minute and he’d have the ball in the net again before half-time to help send his team in with a 2-7 to 0-8 advantage.

The Leinster champions fought back brilliantly after the change of ends, with Tony McDonnell, Shane Lennon and Tadhg McDonnell (two-pointer) all sending over scores ahead of an Adam Gillespie free and Darragh Dorian smacking his goal effort off the crossbar.

A Grimes point broke the Wee County’s streak and McElholm's opening goal would be backed up by a Caolan Donnelly’s point to make it 3-12 to 0-13 with 44 minutes on the clock.

Two minutes later and McElholm would rattle Louth’s net again, all but sealing the title for Tyrone before substitute Shea McDermott lashed in their fifth goal towards the end.
