Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney fumed over some of the refereeing decisions after his side suffered a third successive Ulster SFC final defeat in Clones yesterday evening.

Donegal claimed back-to-back provincial titles thanks to a 2-23 to 0-28 victory at St Tiernach’s Park where McGeeney questioned some of the calls from referee Brendan Cawley afterwards.

Armagh felt they should’ve had a free late in extra time after Stefan Campbell appeared to be fouled in front of goal, while McGeeney cited another challenge on Ross McQuillan that he felt should’ve resulted in a free for the All-Ireland champions.

“Some things are harder to take than others. We'll just sit down over the next 24 hours and look at the game and see what we can control and what we can't, and sort of try and push on,” the Orchard boss is quoted saying by BelfastLive.co.uk.

“It's always tough when you get beat, so what do you do? That's part and parcel of sport, you just have to keep going.

“The less said about the rub of the green in our sport, the better.

“Unless it comes from me, nobody ever does (say it). When Ross McQuillan won the kick-out, how he didn't get a free kick is beyond comprehension. It's hard to fathom, it really is.”
