Moorefield began their Kildare senior football championship bid with a win over Allenwood at Cedral St. Conleth's Park yesterday.
Seeking their first Dermot Bourke Cup success since 2018, the Moores recorded a convincing 2-16 to 0-15 win on opening weekend and the score of the game no doubt went to their midfielder Aaron Masterson.
It arrived in injury-time, with Masterson and his team mates looking to see out the first-round win in Newbridge where Moorefield won a free around the centre of the field. With no immediate options available for the pass, the midfielder decided to try his luck at a two-pointer which ended up sailing straight between the posts (watch it below).
The 2018 All-Ireland U20 winning captain also netted a crucial goal five minutes beforehand to help the Moores on their way to a seven-point victory.

Options were limited so Aaron Masterson decided to throw it over the bar and comfortably see @MoorefieldGaa over the line.
