It was a sizzling Saturday of red-hot GAA championship action.
Holders Kilkenny and Dublin met in the Leinster senior hurling championship final at Croke Park, preceded by the Joe McDonagh Cup final between Westmeath and Kerry.
Also in hurling, in the first round of the Qualifiers, Thurles provided the setting for the mouth-watering clash of Wexford and Clare, while Waterford and Laois collided at Nowlan Park.
Meanwhile, in the football championship, the first of this year's Ulster SFC semi-finals went down for decision at Newry, where neighbours Armagh and Monaghan did battle in an epic encounter.
