A brilliantly taken goal by Ben Kelliher saw Kerry taking in a 1-7 to 0-8 half-time lead against Tyrone in this afternoon’s All-Ireland minor football championship final.
After an airtight opening 20 minutes in Newbridge, the Ulster champions hit a James Mulgrew two-pointer and single from Eoin Long (free) told hold a 0-8 to 0-5 advantage five minutes before the break.
The Kingdom responded with a free from skipper Gearoid White and a well-worked Danny Murphy point before talisman Kelliher ripped through and smashed this superb finish to the top corner of the Red Hands’ net:
