McGinley appointed New York football manager

The New York team arrive for their Connacht SFC clash against Leitrim at Gaelic Park

Another inter-county managerial vacancy has been filled with the appointment of Ronan McGinley as New York football boss.

Hailing from the Errigal Ciaran club in Tyrone, McGinley replaces former Cavan goalkeeper Alan O’Mara, who stepped down last month after only one season in charge. The new manager lined out for the Exiles in the Connacht SFC between 2011 and ’17.

New York will welcome Galway to Gaelic Park in the opening round of next year’s Connacht SFC. Derry, Westmeath and Clare are the only counties still without a manager ahead of the 2025 season.
