Rebels reveal first selection for new season

Cork hurling manager Pat Ryan has named his first starting 15 for the new season as his side take on UCC in their Canon O’Brien Cup opener on Saturday.

The selected line-up sees first senior starts for Cathal McCarthy (Sarsfields), Daniel Harrington (Fr O'Neills), Eoin Carey (Kilworth) and Darragh Flynn (Ballygiblin).

Meanwhile, familiar faces such as Shane Kingston and Conor Lehane are named in the Rebels’ attack, while Declan Dalton and Darragh Fitzgibbon are listed on the bench.

With throw-in at Mardyke set to take place at 2pm, some of the proceeds from the match will go to the Dylan Quirke Foundation.
