Former Tyrone star Owen Mulligan expects to see “three or four” of the county’s U20 stars called up to the senior squad this year.

Mulligan is a member of the Red Hands’ U20 team under the management of Paul Devlin and their team faces Donegal in the Ulster championship semi-finals this Friday night at Celtic Park (throw-in 8pm).

With seven departures from the Tyrone’s senior squad since last September’s All-Ireland SFC success, Mulligan predicts that a number of U20s will be drafted in for championship by Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher to help fill the void.

“I’ll mention no names, but absolutely, there’s three or four there,” the three-time All-Ireland winner told BelfastLive.ie

“I would firmly believe that if we keep going and win Ulster, there’s four of five of those boys that will make the step up to the seniors.

“There’s a great set-up here, and who’s to say they can’t make the senior team, with a lot of players dropping out.”
