All-Ireland champions Tyrone have suffered another blow in personnel ahead of the Ulster championship with the withdrawal of attacker Paul Donaghy from their squad.

Last year saw the Dungannon Clarkes ace make an outstanding debut for the Red Hands when he fired over 0-10 against Donegal, but this past Allianz League campaign only saw him starting in two games for his county.

His exit from the squad makes him the seventh player to leave Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher’s set-up, with Lee Brennan, Tiernan McCann, Ronan O’Neill, Hugh Pat McGeary, Mark Bradley and Michael Cassidy since last September’s Sam Maguire Cup success.

Donaghy’s departure is also a further blow to Tyrone’s attack, with the experienced Mattie Donnelly having suffered a hamstring injury in last Sunday’s win over Kerry in Killarney.

The Red Hands begin their Ulster SFC title defence on April 16th when they face Fermanagh in the preliminary round at Brewster Park, Enniskillen.
