There was a lovely moment in an Offaly JFC ‘B’ match between Shamrocks and Ferbane last Saturday when 2021 All-Ireland U20 winning captain Kieran Dolan made his comeback from a serious injury.

Two years ago, Dolan suffered a career-threatening knee dislocation in a SFC clash between the same two clubs. The injury sidelined him up until last weekend when he came off the bench in a 1-9 to 0-6 win for the Rahan-parish side. While the full back still has a long way to go to get back playing at the highest level, it was still heartwarming to see him back in action after such a long injury layoff.

“A big day for Kieran Dolan as he made his comeback today playing football,” Shamrocks posted on Facebook.

“Kieran has spent the last two years putting in a lot of hard work to get back playing again after a serious injury. It was great to see him on the field again and hopefully we will see lots more from Kieran.”
