Mickey Graham is being heavily linked with a role in Padraic Joyce’s Galway management team, just a fortnight after stepping down as Leitrim manager.

Graham was part of the Connacht management along with Joyce, Kevin McStay, Davy Burke and John Concannon for last weekend’s interprovincial series in Croke Park, which road-tested the Football Review Committee’s rule enhancements. It now appears that the Cavan man’s involvement with Galway manager Joyce and coach Concannon wasn’t just a one-off and that he will be linking up with the Tribesmen in 2025.

Appointed as Leitrim manager for a three-year term in August, Graham lasted just two months in the role, citing ‘circumstances beyond his control’ as his reason behind his shock departure.

He managed his native Cavan from 2019 to '23, during which he guided them to their first Ulster SFC title in 27 years in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. The former Breffni County footballer previously led Longford's Mullinalaghta to a famous Leinster Club SFC success in 2018.
