St Patrick's College, Maghera and Thurles CBS were crowned Hogan Cup and Croke Cup champions respectively at Croke Park on St Patrick's Day.

The Derry underage football conveyor belt shows no sign of slowing down after St Pat's stormed to a 2-8 to 0-4 victory over St Colman's College, Claremorris in a one-sided All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Senior 'A' Football Championship final.

Derry All-Ireland MFC winner Padraig Haran scored 1-1 in a man of the match display, while Darragh O'Neill raised the winners' other green flag three minutes after the restart to push them 10 points clear and out of sight. It was St Pat's first Hogan Cup since 2013 and sixth in total.

The following All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Senior 'A' Hurling Championship decider was a much closer affair which saw Thurles CBS come from eight points down with 18 minutes remaining to edge out Presentation College, Athenry by 0-24 to 2-17.

Goals from Frank Burke and Aaron Niland had the Galway lads in control, but Thurles CBS refused to lie down as they outscored their opponents by 0-12 to 0-3 down the home straight, culminating in Cormac Fitzpatrick's late winning free.
