The Football Review Committee (FRC) have confirmed that they won’t make any tweaks to the new rule changes until after March 13th ahead of the championship’s start.
The committee convened last night in order to review and discuss the impact of the new rule enhancements after the first four rounds of the Allianz Football League.
In a statement released this morning, the FRC outlined that it is currently gathering responses from the National Referees’ Panel after attending the referees’ meeting on Thursday, while it is also getting feedback from inter-county and club managers through an online survey.
The statement in full reads: "The Football Review Committee met last night (Friday 28th February) to review and discuss the impact of the new rule enhancements and the accompanying data from the first four rounds of the 2025 Allianz Football Leagues.
"The Committee is also assessing recent feedback received from inter-county and club managers via an on-line survey sent to their respective County Secretaries. On-line survey responses are also being assessed from the National Referees’ Panel, after the FRC attended the referees’ meeting last Thursday.

"The review process will continue early next week when the FRC reconvenes and factors in the findings from round five of the competition. At that juncture the committee will present its findings and any recommendations to the Standing Committee on Playing Rules who will in turn liaise with both Coiste Bainistíochta and Ard Chomhairle who are seheduled to meet on Thursday 13th March to determine the future implementation of the enhancements before the commencement of the football championship.
"The FRC would like to express its gratitude to all parties involved in the process so far, not least the players, managers and referees involved in the games played up to this point but also the members and supporters who have provided important feedback as an intrinsic part of the overall process.
