Limerick struck three well-timed goals as they defeated Wexford by 3-11 to 0-18 in this evening’s Allianz Football League Division 4 final at Croke Park.
Limerick made the better start at headquarters by moving into a 0-3 to 0-1 lead come the 10th minute before their Leinster counterparts, who were unbeaten coming into this decider, hit four points unanswered to move into their first lead in the 23rd minute.

Jimmy Lee’s side levelled things up before Darragh O Siochru broke through and fired in a sublime goal three minutes later and it’d prove the difference between the teams at half-time (1-6 to 0-6).
The Slaneysiders sent over the first three points of the restart via Pairic Hughes, Marco Rossi (free) and Mark Rossiter to level it up again, but they’d wiped out by a coolly taken goal from substitute Peter Nash in the 44th minute.

Limerick held their lead until the 62nd minute when a Darragh Brooks two-pointer from a free made it honours even again and set-up what looked to be a tense finish.
However, disaster would strike for Wexford again just a minutes afterwards when Tommie Childs smashed in a third Treaty goal and, from there, Lee’s men were able to see out the two-point victory to take home the silverware.
