Davy Fitzgerald claims Antrim are in a relegation battle after their crushing 0-17 to 2-26 loss to Offaly.

Following an encouraging Allianz Hurling League Division 1B Round 2 win at home to Westmeath, the Saffrons were brought back down to earth when the reigning Joe McDonagh Cup champions inflicted a second defeat on them.

"I'm not going to cover over that, that's where we're at," the Antrim manager told BBC NI of his relegation concerns.

"We were nine points to seven down, playing average but still in the game. Next thing we gave a sharp pass we shouldn't have given and they got a goal out of it. We went five, six down. Once we went another point or two with that it just was like…that was it.

"You could actually feel it on the sideline that we weren't going to fight it back and I don't know why that is, because they're really good lads, they work really hard."
