Newly-appointed Derry football manager Paddy Tally has added highly-rated strength and conditioning coach Cairbre Ó Cairealláin to his backroom team.

The former Antrim hurler was involved with Tipperary when they won the All-Ireland SHC title in 2019 and Limerick when they also lifted the Liam MacCarthy Cup in 2022 and ’23. Ó Cairealláin had a spell with Premier League giants Arsenal FC as well.

Tally’s backroom team also includes head coach Paul McIver and selectors Kevin McGuckin and Paul McFlynn, who both wore the Derry jersey with distinction during their playing careers.
