Rory Grugan fired in the first goal of this afternoon’s crunch All-Ireland SFC quarter-final between Armagh and Kerry at Croke Park.
The Munster champions had built up a 0-9 to 0-6 lead by the 26th minute before points from Oisin Conaty and Joe McElroy were backed up by Grugan’s goal on the half-hour mark.
Tiernan Kelly nipped ahead of Dylan Casey to intercept Shane Ryan’s short kick-out and passed to Grugan for the Ballymacnab man to lash the ball to the roof of the Kingdom’s net, making it 1-8 to 0-9.
The All-Ireland champions would go on to hold a 1-11 to 0-13 lead at half-time at headquarters.
