Meath and Louth overcame the terrible weather conditions and Kildare and Dublin respectively last night to set up a repeat of last year's Leinster U20FC final.
Holders Meath recovered from a sluggish start to oust a fancied Kildare on a 0-19 to 1-8 scoreline at a wet and windy Ashbourne. Free-taker Rian Stafford and impressive full forward Jamie Murphy scored 0-15 between them to turn the tide after the visitors had led by 1-2 to 0-0 at the end of the opening quarter thanks to Jay O'Brien's ninth-minute goal and points from Ben Loakman and Eoin Cully.
In the other last-four tie at an equally miserable Darver, Louth knocked out Dublin for the second year in-a-row with a 0-14 to 0-11 victory.
With captain Sean Callaghan inspirational at midfield, the Wee County also came good after a slow start as scores from Tony McDonnell, Adam Gillespie, Tadhg McDonnell, James Maguire, Pearse Grimes Murphy and Darragh Dorian sent them into next Wednesday's decider.
The second-tier Andrew Corden Cup with also see a local derby between Westmeath and Offaly after they accounted for Laois and Carlow respectively last evening.
