Armagh look to have received a timely boost with reports that star forward Rian O’Neill has returned to the All-Ireland champions’ squad.
The Crossmaglen Rangers clubman opted out of Kieran McGeeney’s panel at the start of the year and has missed the team’s first four outings in the Allianz League since.
McGeeney confirmed after his side's first round loss to Galway last month that O’Neill was “taking a bit of time” away from the squad and expected him to return at a later date.
Multiple reports on Thursday indicated that the 27-year-old is back in the Orchard men’s pack, with RTE Sport reporting that “it is believed he trained with the squad on Tuesday”.
Armagh currently sit fifth in the Division 1 table after a win, a draw and two defeats and O’Neill has not been named in the 24-man matchday squad for tomorrow evening’s showdown with Dublin at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds (7.35pm).
However, it is believed that he could be back on the field for Armagh in a matter of weeks as they look to get some game time into him ahead of their Ulster SFC quarter-final clash with Antrim on April 12th.
