Tyrone manager Malachy O’Rourke says it was very disappointing for his side not to get a result from yesterday’s clash with Kerry in Pomeroy.
The Red Hands washed away a shaky start by running up a six-point lead on the Munster champions before David Clifford netted the first of his three goals for the visitors.
Mark Bradley’s rebounded penalty in the second-half would help the home side towards a three-point lead late on but Clifford’s third goal was followed up by two frees from the same man and a Graham O’Sullivan point which sealed the 3-13 to 2-13 win for Kerry.
"We wanted to get off to a good start, but we just didn't seem to have the energy we would have liked and, when we did get the ball up, we weren't linking up as well as we would have liked," O’Rourke is quoted saying by BBC Sport NI afterwards.
"We knew at half-time, if we got our hands on the ball, we could control it and we would be very much in the game and that's how it turned out.
"I thought with 10 minutes to go we were in a great position, but we just didn't finish it out.
"Very disappointing for the boys because I know the effort they are putting in and they are working very hard - we just aren't getting the results at the minute."
