Tyrone's Darren McCurry with Ryan Wylie of Monaghan at the final whistle

Semi-final places were up for grabs in Division One North and Divisions Three North and South of the national football league.

As expected, Division One North had turned into a typically tight affair and all four teams went into the night still in contention for the top flight semi-finals as the third and final round took place. Armagh had home advantage against Donegal and Tyrone welcomed neighbours Monaghan to Omagh.

In Division Three North, Ulster champions Cavan entertained Derry at Breffni Park, while Fermanagh hosted Longford. Meanwhile, in the South section, Limerick travelled to Aughrim to face Wicklow and Offaly entertained Tipperary.

There were also crunch clashes in Division Four South of the national football league (Carlow V Wexford) and Division 3A of the national hurling league (Sligo V Longford).
