Michael Murphy is set to make his 200th appearance for Donegal in Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC Round 3 clash with Dublin at Croke Park.

It comes after the 2012 All-Ireland SFC winning captain played his 199th game in Donegal’s shock Round 2A home defeat to Cork last Saturday. The 36-year-old, who came out of retirement in November 2024 after two years, set a new Donegal record when he overtook Neil McGee on 195 appearances when he lined out against Roscommon in the Allianz League in March.

Murphy will join Mayo’s Aidan O’Shea and Dublin goalkeeping great Stephen Cluxton as the only players to have made over 200 league and championship appearances for their county.
