Finbar Egan has been appointed manager of the Roscommon intermediate ladies football team.

Egan, who takes over from Ollie Lennon, was at the helm when a Cora Staunton-inspired Mayo won four All-Ireland senior ladies football titles between 1999 and 2003. He has also had two spells in charge of the Clann na nGael ladies team and managed Maryland to a Westmeath IFC and 'Celebrity Bainisteoir' double in 2008.

"Finbar has a wealth of knowledge and experience of coaching and managing across numerous age grades and levels," Roscommon LGFA said in a statement.

"We would like to wish Finbar and his incoming management team the very best of luck for the coming season and beyond."
