Surprise as Graham leaves Leitrim after only two months

Mickey Graham has stepped down as Leitrim football manager, just two months after his appointment.
The shock news comes nearly two months before inter-county teams can return to training and sees Leitrim join Derry, Westmeath and Clare are the only counties still searching for a manager ahead of the 2025 season.
Appointed for a three-year term in August, Graham had been assistant to Andy Moran last season. He managed his native Cavan from 2019 to '23, during which he guided them to their first Ulster SFC title in 27 years in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. The former Cavan footballer previously led Longford's Mullinalaghta to a famous Leinster Club SFC success in 2018.
"Mickey was fully committed and looking forward to his role ahead but circumstances beyond his control have led to him making this decision and regrettably, for all concerned, he will not be continuing in his appointed position," a statement from the county board read.
