Big names in for Mayo U20 job

Keith Higgins, David Brady and John Maughan are in the running to become the next Mayo U20 football manager.

According to local reports, the high-profile trio have been nominated for the post for which interviews with take place on Saturday. Higgins was an outstanding dual player for Mayo who won eight Connacht SFC medals, one Allianz League, four All-Stars and also played in six All-Ireland SFC finals. In addition, he won two Lory Meagher Cups with the Mayo hurlers as well as a Railway Cup medal with Connacht. He continues to line out for Ballyhaunis in the Mayo SFC.

Brady was a star midfielder for Mayo who won five Connacht SFC medals, one Allianz League and played in three All-Ireland SFC finals. He also claimed All-Ireland club honours with Ballina Stephenites in 2005 and managed Ratoath to a Meath SFC title in 2022.

Currently involved with his native Crossmolina, Maughan is a former Clare, Mayo, Fermanagh, Roscommon and Offaly senior manager. He led Clare to a famous Munster SFC success in 1992 and Mayo to four Connacht SFC titles and three All-Ireland SFC final appearances.
