Limerick got their first win of this year’s Allianz Hurling League campaign after coming out on top in a shoot-out against Tipperary by 0-30 to 1-23 at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
After building up a four-point lead in the first-half, John Kiely’s men saw it wiped out after Jake Morris’s point was backed up by a sensational Sean Kenneally goal which he volleyed in in the 25th minute (watch it below).

From there, the points of Kenneally, Gearoid O’Connor and Alan Tynan would help Tipp edge a 1-13 to 0-15 lead at the interval.
The second-half would see the Munster champions adding another 15 points to their tally, with the excellent Diarmaid Byrnes, who finished with 0-7 (0-4 from play), leading the way for them.
The Premier men stayed in touch through the frees of Darragh McCarthy, with his fourth in 10 minutes making it a one-point game on the hour mark.
However, a Byrnes free and one from play via Aaron Gillane had Limerick three up with two minutes left in normal time, and another from Byrnes would help them win out by four in the end and inflict their neighbours with a first defeat in Division 1A this season.
