A late Matthew Murphy point secured a 0-14 to 1-11 draw for holders Mohill against Ballinamore in this afternoon’s Leitrim senior football championship final.

The champions looked set to relinquish their crown until the third minute of injury-time in Ballinamore when a long ball into the square eventually found its way to Murphy who fisted over the equalising point.

In what was a repeat of the county’s 2021 decider, Ballinamore held the upper hand at half-time (1-6 to 0-7) after Wayne McKeon had netted the game’s only goal just three minutes in.

Mohill slipped three behind after the restart before getting back on level terms via the points of county man Keith Beirne, Tadhg Mulligan and Evan Harkin, and they’d move two in front through Jack Rowley and Beirne (free).

Ballinamore came with a late push that saw frees fly over from Paul Honeyman and McKeon before the former looked to have landed the winner, but Murphy’s last gasp point (watch it below) ensured a replay between the sides in six days’ time.
