Yes two important games ahead and as it stand we need to win one of them. They are in the same boat of course for they also have to win so many way's to miss out on promotion so one game at a time and stop thinking about promotion and league final appearances.
If you look at the table if results went against us say Tip beat us we would be on 9 along with tip on head to head they would be ahead of us as well as on score difference should it come to that.
potentially
each of the following can reach this total but this changes next week after the results of all. Cavan might not even have to worry the Tip match please god.
Cavan 11
Tip 11
Ros 11
Cork 10
So big pressure on everyone and it will test the character of all the teams over the next two weeks. "
There is no way Ros Tipp and Cavan can all finish on 11 points it is not possible.

Sunday evening we will know a hell of a lot more anyway. Hope there is a good crowd at the game and expect there will be. Cavan are flying at the minute and we are very much hit and miss brilliant for 5 minutes, Brutal for the next 10 and so on. We need a more consistant 70 minute if we are to continue our good record over ye.

I know its not but if you read my post you would have picked that up anyway. This is why I say Cavan need a point from each game or a win from one.

The canonisation of TH must surely now be put on hold.!!
Note to Mattie......... your only in your 2nd year! Amazing job your doing there! And yes you were right.. S J can still play a bit. Form is temporary . Class is permanent!"
The irony in this post talking about canonisation of one manager and then do it to another.

Not all done and dusted for sure. We owe Roscommon and Tipp but they are not joint second for no reason. Tough two games but this is what you want coming to the end of a league campaign.

To be honest i don't think we are as good as the league table suggest. Down could have won especially with the goal chances they had. We are still trying out players to find the best 15, which is great to see but even more important was the willingness to change it when things wern't working.

For those that we saying we were a bit loose, this is what happens when you get a bit more attack minded. We just didn't have the cover and got away with it in some cases. We scored 17 points but it does come with a risk.

I'd risk it for a buscuit... :)

It does not go on points difference, it goes on head-to-head so if Roscommon beat cavan, and finish level on points, Roscommon will finish ahead of cavan on head-to-head regrdless of how the score difference is. If Roscommon win their remaining games and Cavan beat tipp in the last game Ros and cavan will be promoted."
If 3 or more teams finish on same points then it goes down to score difference. If only 2 teams on same points then it's head to head.

Cork have Clare at home and Roscommon away.
Tipp have Down away and Cavan away.

Well here is a possibility
Cork have to play Clare and Roscommon should they win both they will be on 10 points should Cork lose against Roscommon they will only have 8 points and Roscommon beat Cavan Roscommon will be ahead on 11 points
Should Tipp beat down and Cavan they end up with 11 points Sadly Cavan would fail to get promotion.

I know our destiny is in our own hands but Cavan for a start they would hope that Cork will help our cause by beating Roscommon and Down beat Tipp and should Tipp beat Cavan all three will be on 9 points

As it stands Tipp have a two score advantage over Cavan but Cavan have an 8 point advantage over Roscommon score wise.

So it will be very interesting next week how matches go scores may well decide who will be promoted so plenty pressure all round and who can handle it best.

I think I am reading this properly.

Bit early to be talking about the final day conundrums. If we go to Hyde thinking we have a cushion of sorts then mentally we're at a disadvantage. We need to beat Roscommon and it's not just about the points.

I don't see any cushion at all we cannot depend on others it's that simple BUT the possibilities are there as I stated in my previous post. I cannot imagine the management or players would be thinking of anything other than a win plain and simple.

If we can't beat Roscommon and Tipperary we have no business being in Div 1 because there a lot tougher than those 2 up there.
We have a score to settle with both of them so there no time like the present.
Let's go and win both games to prove to ourselves we are getting better.

Yes. Promotions are won, not lost. If you don't get promoted it's because a better team won it. It's looking likely two from Tipp, Ross and ourselves will go up. The way the fixtures are, each of the teams have their destiny in their own hands. Big test on Sunday for a lot of reasons.

Interesting words from Mattie - which I agree with. I thought we were good enough to stay up and felt he talked the team's chances down too much and gave the impression we were happy just to be there.

The loss to roscommon when (at the time) a win gave us a chance to stay up and the championship collapse to Tipp completely shot any confidence I had in him. . .to the point where I feared for our survival in Division 2 this year.

I know I wasn't on my own in that regard and I'm delighted for Mattie and the team that they've gone so well so far. It would be great to get the job done at the first attempt on Sunday! We need promotion - if we miss out now, I can't see ourselves picking up for an away trip to Donegal.

here we go again. people getting ahead of themselves. We have yet to play the team who knocked us out of last years Championship and who are scoring goals for fun this year (Tipp) and also our bogey team who have beaten us is championships and leagues and league finals in recent years and are also scoring more than us this year. We have done well so far but these two games coming up could go either way.

Nice to read our manager saying that we have to improve so he for sure is not thinking beyond the next game.
