Shamrocks Ballyhale claimed their 22nd Kilkenny senior hurling championship title with a commanding 2-24 to 0-8 victory over Tullaroan at Nowlan Park this afternoon.
Adrian Mullen led the scoring with 1-3, while TJ Reid, who won his 13th SHC medal here, contributed five points and teenager Jake Mullen grabbed the second goal.
Mullen struck the net after just 23 seconds as Ballyhale dominated from the outset, building a commanding 1-12 Tullaroan 0-2 half-time lead.
Tullaroan, appearing in their first final since 1994, struggled to break down a disciplined Ballyhale defence, managing just four points from play.
Jake Mullen's second-half goal ended any hopes of a comeback as Ballyhale continued to rack up the scores on the way to their latest Tom Walsh Cup success.
Kilkenny's kingpins now get set to face Laois champions The Harps in a Leinster club SHC quarter-final in Portlaoise on November 8th.
