Creggan Kickhams got their Antrim senior football championship campaign off to a winning start last night by defeating All Saints on a 0-24 to 1-14 scoreline at Quinn Park.

In a repeat of their recent league final meeting, Kickhams led by 0-11 to 0-9 at the halfway stage thanks to a couple of Jamie McCann points.

The home side would be reduced to 14 men as a result Brendan McDonnell's dismissal for a high challenge on the eve of the interval.

All Saints won a penalty after the change of ends which was dispatched by James McDonnel, but they’d be down to 13 men when Peter McReynolds picked up a black card in the 37th minute.

After that, it was the 2021 champions that took over as Liam McLernon, Conor Small and Liam Quinn (2) all shot points to help them earn an opening victory.

Elsewhere last night, last year’s runners-up Portglenone cruised to a 5-22 to 0-8 win over Glenravel, with Ronan Kelly, Michael Hagan, Ryan Convery, Enda Lynn and Dermot McAleese all finding the net for the victors.
