Eoin Larkin has replaced Brian Cody as James Stephens hurling manager.
Larkin is joined by fellow Kilkenny great Jackie Tyrrell and current panellist Matthew Ruth in the new-look management as ‘The Village’ seek to bounce back from this year’s shock relegation to the intermediate ranks. It was the first time in their history to drop out of the top flight and was all the more surprising given the involvement of Cody, who won All-Ireland SHC titles during his 24-year tenure as Cats boss from 1998 to 2022, and is considered by many to be the greatest GAA manager of all-time.
The 70-year-old has now stepped down as manager of the nine-time Kilkenny SHC kingpins who have moved quickly to replace with him another club legend as they seek to make an instant return to the top table on Noreside.
