Donegal boss Jim McGuinness says he’s ‘delighted’ to have the services of Michael Murphy after he recently came out of inter-county retirement.
The 2012 All-Ireland SFC winning captain announced his inter-county retirement in November 2022, only to sensationally reverse his decision earlier this month.
"We're delighted to have him back. Great in terms of what he brings on the pitch but also off-the-pitch as well," McGuinness said in an interview with Donegal TV’s Noel Cunningham at last weekend’s Donegal Association London annual dinner dance.
"[He's] a person I know very well and understand very well, an incredibly high football IQ, so absolutely delighted Michael has made that decision and looking forward to working with him next year.
"Hopefully it’s going to be a very important part of 2025."
