Former Antrim footballer Kevin Carey is facing the biggest battle of his life.

Kevin represented his county at minor level in 1998 and '99. In '98, he was centre back on the Antrim side that reached the Ulster MFC final.

Having been diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour, the Portglenone man has been given a three-month life expectancy unless he can make it to London for pioneering Immunotherapy treatment at UCLH, London. This lifesaving treatment is only available privately at a cost of £205,000.

Having already undergone major brain surgery to remove up to 97% of the tumour, Kevin is now in a fight against the clock to beat this dreadful condition.

The civil engineer only got married four years ago but, after suffering a series of seizures, was told in July that he has three months to live. In an emotional plea for help, Kevin's wife Natasha says her husband is the "most wonderful, kind, funny and thoughtful man you could ever meet" but that a Grade 4 brain tumour "has taken Kevin's driving licence, his job, his career and is trying to take his life".

Kevin and his three brothers all lined out for the Roger Casements club. He went on to represent Queens University in Belfast while completing his Degree in Civil Engineering. During his time in Sydney, he also played football with Young Ireland GFC.
