Ardee St Mary’s quest for a four-in-a-row of Louth SFC titles has been boosted by the arrival of Brian Talty from Raheny.

Talty, whose name is listed on Leinster GAA’s transfer schedule, is expected to be a major addition to the Louth kingpins who came agonisingly close to beating eventual All-Ireland champions Cuala in last November’s Leinster club SFC final. He formed a strong midfield partnership with recently-retired Dublin great Brian Fenton for Raheny last season when they were knocked out of the Dublin SFC by Castleknock.

Former Westmeath sharpshooter Tommy McDaniel, who also played in that game for Castleknock, has also been granted a transfer back to his native Ballinagore, who won the Westmeath JFC2 title last year.
