Enda McGahern has been appointed as a Longford senior football selector.

The Fr Manning Gaels clubman will link up with new manager Mike Solan and fellow selector Michael Moyles after leading Longford to a surprise Leinster MFC title last summer. The midland minnows overcame Dublin in the final before losing to Armagh at the All-Ireland quarter-final stage.

Solan was appointed manager last month in succession to Paddy Christie for a three-year term. The Ballaghaderreen man guided Mayo to an All-Ireland U21FC success in 2016 and was assistant to Andy Moran during his first year in charge of Leitrim.
