Erin's Own, Cargin recorded their second Antrim senior football championship three-in-a-row success in a seven-year span by edging Portglenone (0-10 to 0-8) in extra time at Corrigan Park this afternoon.

Portglenone had made a decent start after sending over the first two points via Oisin Doherty and Enda Lynn but still trailed at the half by 0-4 to 0-3, with Tomas McCann, Pat Shivers (2) and Conhuir Johnston sending over the holders’ scores.

Skipper Dermot McAleese levelled for the Roger Casements club six minutes into the second-half and it’d go tit-for-tat until Cargin opened up a two-point lead through Shivers.

Substitute Aidan McAleese held his nerve to point two frees in injury-time and send the game to extra time where Shivers and McCann came up with big Cargin scores before Eunan Quinn provided what turned out to be the insurance point for Erin's Own’s 13th SFC crown.
