Kilcoo secured their 22nd Down senior football championship title this afternoon thanks to a 1-10 to 0-4 victory over Burren at Pairc Esler.

Karl Lacey’s men went 0-3 to 0-2 up after Ryan McEvoy free in the 12th minute and wouldn’t look back as points via Niall Kane (free), Micheal Rooney, Paul Devlin and Chris Rooney moved them towards a 0-7 to 0-2 interval lead.

Liam Kerr pulled a couple of points back for Burren after the change of ends but, truth be told, they were outclassed by the Magpies who added another point from Devlin before Burren pair Danny Magill and Liam Kerr were both red carded as the game ticked into injury-time.

Anthony Morgan would send over the holders’ 10th point of the afternoon ahead of Darryl Branagan capping off another Frank O'Hare Cup triumph with a terrific goal in the closing moments.
