Roscommon will be playing their league hurling in Division 2B next season after defeating Armagh by 2-17 to 0-15 in Navan this afternoon.
Less than six weeks after Seamus Qualter returned to the county’s hot-seat following the departure of Clare native Francis O’Halloran, the Rossies’ league campaign has ended with silverware in the form of the Division 3A crown.
Conor Mulry’s goal after 10 minutes helped pave their path to victory, as they kicked on from there with points via Paddy Fallon to lead by 1-9 to 0-6 at half-time.
Adam Donnelly’s frees kept Armagh in touch after the turnaround but Fallon nailed two points from play down the home stretch prior to Mickey Joe Egan hammering in a second goal that secured the title and promotion for Qualter’s charges.
