Seamus Qualter is set to take charge of the Roscommon senior hurlers for a second time.

Local radio station Shannonside reported last night that the Galway native is being lined up to replace Francis O'Halloran, who stepped down following last Sunday week's shock Allianz League Division 3A defeat to Louth.

Qualter previously managed the Rossies between 2009 and '13, and led the U21s to an All-Ireland 'B' title in 2021. In more recent times, he guided Athleague to a Roscommon SHC title in 2018 and Tremane to their first county final appearance in in 25 years in 2021.

Qualter is a former Westmeath senior hurler who led the Lake County to Christy Ring Cup success in 2007. His first game back in charge of the Rossies will be away to Fermanagh next Sunday.
