The late Damian Casey was named as Hurler of the Year at the Ulster GAA awards last night.
The Tyrone star passed away in June in a tragic swimming-pool accident in Spain where he had been attending a wedding.
The Dungannon man inspired the Red Hands to Nicky Rackard Cup success this past season, scoring 0-14 in their final victory over Roscommon at Croke Park just a month prior to his death.
Widely regarded as Tyrone’s greatest ever hurler, Casey was also honoured as the Nickey Rackard Player of the Year in October and was selected on the Ring, Rackard and Meagher Team of the Year for 2022 for the fourth year consecutive year.
