Late Tyrone hero Damian Casey has been posthumously honoured with the Nickey Rackard Player of the Year award.
The 29-year-old Eoghan Ruadh, Dungannon star died tragically in June having inspired his county to Nicky Rackard Cup glory at Croke Park earlier that month. One of the greatest hurlers of his generation, Casey's tally of 1-12 in the semi-final against Donegal took him to the 400 mark for championship points. He added another 0-14 in the final victory over Roscommon.
He was selected in the Ring, Rackard, and Meagher Team of the Year for 2022 for the fourth year in-a-row.
Members of Casey’s family, including his parents Seán and Susan, attended the awards ceremony in Croke Park last night.
The 2022 Nickey Rackard Player of the Year Award was won by Daminan Casey RIP and his award was presented to his Father Sean & Lifelong friend Aodhan Mc Hugh.
