Mahony brothers combine for 1-16 as Ballygunner join Mount Sion in Waterford SHC semis

All-Ireland champions Ballygunner extended their unbeaten run by defeating Fourmilewater earlier today and advancing to the semi-finals of the Waterford senior hurling championship.

The Gunners were again in impressive in a 1-27 to 1-15 win at Fraher Field – a result that sees their run of the games stretch to 46 unbeaten.

Mahony brothers Pauric, Kevin and Mikey accounted for 1-16 of the holders’ tally, with Kevin’s goal putting them on the path to victory three minutes in.

The day's earlier quarter-final clash in the Deise County saw Austin Gleeson starring with 1-6 as Mount Sion finished 1-27 to 0-13 winners over Lismore.

The semi-finals now see Mount Sion facing De La Salle, who were seven-point winners over Dungarvan yesterday, while Ballygunner meet Roanmore at Walsh Park next Sunday.
