Masters football returns on May 7

March 01, 2022

Tyrone are the Dr Mick Loftus Cup holders.

The 2022 All-Ireland Gaelic Masters (Over 40s) football championship will get underway on Saturday, May 7.

Three-time All-Ireland SFC winners Stephen O’Neill and Conor Gormley were part of the Tyrone side which beat Dublin to capture the Dr Mick Loftus Cup last November. Donegal defeated Westmeath in the Shield final, while Cavan were the Plate winners after seeing off Roscommon in the decider.

A full fixture schedule will be drawn up in the coming weeks. At the Gaelic Masters Association’s AGM in the Longford Arms Hotel last Saturday, a motion was passed that all members must be registered online to play.
