All 18 rule changes proposed by the Football Review Committee will come into force in 2025 at club and county level after a landslide backing by delegates today.

There were 49 motions before Congress this afternoon and all were passed by delegates. A vote of 60 per cent was required on each motion and every vote bar one saw over 85 per cent in favour.

93% of delegates voted that the rules should apply for both club and county level in 2025 and most votes were over 90 per cent. Only the vote that a countdown clock and hooter be used where feasible saw some hesitation as it passed with 74 per cent in favour.

"This has given a resounding mandate for improvements in Gaelic Football,"GAA President Jarlath Burns commented after the votes took place.

FRC Chairman Jim Gavin said his committee’s work is not done and they will continue to work to improve the game: "The FRC is here to serve you and we will continue our engagement. Ultimately, the ambition is that Gaelic Games will be the most enjoyable amateur games in the world to play and watch."
