Monaghan will face Derry in the 2020 Ulster MFC final next Friday

Monaghan stayed on course for a third consecutive Ulster minor football championship title after seeing off Fermanagh by 3-10 to 2-10 this afternoon.

Kingspan Breffni and the Athletic Grounds played host to the long-awaited 2020 provincial semi-finals this afternoon, which had been postponed last year as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Monaghan edged a thriller with their neighbours in Cavan Town, where Dylan O’Reilly’s coolly taken goal in injury-time set-up a date with Derry next Friday evening (time and venue to be decided).

It was a tight affair in Armagh too, with Derry edging neighbours Tyrone by 3-10 to 2-12.

Matthew Downey was the hero for the Oak Leafers as his superb second-half penalty rocketed them in front and he’d add a pressure free nine minutes later which proved the difference in the end.
