Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has announced a new three-week extension of 'lockdown' measures in response to the ongoing outbreak of Covid-19.

The country has already been under 'lockdown' for two weeks and in accordance with the Irish Government's decision to extend restrictions to Tuesday, May 5, there will be a continued suspension of all sports up until then, at least.

The GAA is expected to make a statement in light of this afternoon's announcement from the Government.
